Access the Setup page

Setup will launch in a new tab after you click the gear icon to reveal the drop-down menu.


Fields & Relationships

Look for Fields & Relationships under Lead in the Object Manager.


Click on New


Click the "New" button under Fields & Relationships.


Fill the details of the new custom field.

Click Next after selecting "Text Area" as the field type. Click Next after entering the Field Label and adding a description (the Field name will auto-populate). Click Next, leaving all fields as default.


Save the newly created custom field.



Your custom field has now been created in the Salesforce Lightning Lead object.
